 PILGRIMAGE TO ISRAEL

Christian Pilgrim Foundation (CPF), a subsidiary of Stuweb Travel & Tours Ltd, Ghana, organizes a 4 times per year pilgrimage for Christians in Ghana to explore the Holy Land (ISREAL), on a spiritual tour to satisfy the biblical fulfilment.

GHANA PILGRIMAGE - SPECIAL ITENARY

Day 1

Arrival at Ben Gurion* Airport. CPF representative will meet your group as you pass through passport control and greet each guest with a flower. Our warm CPF welcome will continue as each guest finds his or her own luggage and then proceed to the luxury and ultra-modern coach where you’re going to meet one of the best Israeli Tour Guides that CPF is proud to employ.

Proceed to Jaffa (Joppa), to see the house of Simon the Tanner and visit St. Peter’s Church.

Drive north along the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea to view the Aqueduct Travel onwards to Haifa, Israel’s largest port city, built on the slopes of Mt. Carmel. Visit the famous Persian Hanging Gardens for a view of the Bahai Shrine. We then make a brief halt at the Elijah cave at Stella Marris and then we continue to Muhraqa, the place of sacrifice and the site where Prophet Elijah defeated the False Prophets of Ba’al.

Day 2

Sea of Galilee Holy Sites: Capernaum, Tabgha, Mt. of Beatitudes

Start the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee before visiting Capernaum to visit the ruins of an ancient synagogue.

Visit the Mt. of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered sermon on the Mt.

Continue to visit Tabgha and the Church of Loaves and fish.

Day 3

Nazareth, Cana, Tiberias

After breakfast visit the magnificent Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth (Mat.2:23, 21-11, Mar. 1:9, 16:6, Luc. 2:39, 4:16, John. 19:9, Act 2:22, 3:6) seeing Virgin Mary’s grotto and the nearby St. Joseph’s Carpentry Chapel.

View the valley of Armageddon from Mount Precipice and proceed to the Village of Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle by transforming water into wine (John 2:1) during the wedding in Cana of Galilee. On the way to Cana stop at Daniel Wine Center.

Drive to Mount Tabor. Visit the Basilica of the Transfiguration.

Day 4

Yardenit, Jericho, Qumran Dead Sea

Depart Tiberias and drive to the Yardenit Baptismal site located in the Jordan River (Matt. 3:16, Luke 3:32, John 1:32), and then drive along the Jordan Valley to the Ancient city of Jericho, believed to be the oldest city on earth, and viewing on route Mt. Quarantal where Jesus spent 40 days when Satan tried to tempt him. It is also the place where Jesus stopped on his way to Jerusalem, on the Eve of the Passover were Jesus cured the blind man during his stay at Zachaeus' house.

Drive to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Drive along the shores of the DEAD SEA, the lowest spot on earth. Drive to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. Enjoy the opportunity to swim at the unique water of the Dead Sea

Continue to Jerusalem

Day 5

Jerusalem - Drive to Jerusalem.

We will start our day at the Mount of Olives for a magnificent view of Jerusalem, Descend to Kidron Valley and visit the Garden of Gethsemane (Matt 26:36, Mark 14:32) with its splendid Olive Grove dating back to the days of Jesus.

Proceed to Mt. of Zion to visit the Room of the last supper (Mark 14:15, Luke 22:12, Act 1:13) and the Dormition Abbey. Visit the church of St. Peter's in Galicantu (Capias' House) where Jesus was imprisoned and interrogated by the high priest (Matt 26:57-75, Mark 14:53-72).

Take a group picture at St. Peter's in Galicantu and proceed to visit the site of King David's Tomb.

Day 6

Jerusalem

Enter the Old City of Jerusalem by the "Dung Gate" to visit the Walking Wall. Walk through the Old City's alleys to the "pool of Bethesda" (John 5:2) along St. Mary's Basilica.

Walk along the stations of the "way of the cross" reaching the basilica of the "Holy Sepulcher" in the Golgotha Hill, and Jesus' empty tomb will be visited in prayer.

Later on walk along the huge Arab Market place with its innumerable shops and colourful merchandise.

Day 7

New City Jerusalem Bethlehem

Return to Jerusalem and visit the New City of Jerusalem. Pass by the Knesset Israel's Parliament House and its giant Menorah. Visit Yad Vashem, Holocaust Museum.

Drive to visit Ein Karem where the Birth place of John the Baptist is commemorated in the local basilica and later walk a short distance to visit the church of the visitation (Luke 1:41).

Drive to Bethlehem. Visit the complex of the Basilica of the Nativity (Luke 2:7, 12, 16) and the close by Shepherds field and three Maggie Grotto.

Return to Jerusalem and end the day at the Garden Tomb.

In the evening, we will have a Farewell Ceremony by CPF Staff. We called the ceremony JP for Jerusalem Pilgrim, each pilgrim will receive Golden Cross badge with certificate signed by the Mayor of Jerusalem.

The ceremony will be followed with a cake decorated with the flag of the country of origin of the group and fireworks on it.

We will have a small ceremony - cutting of the cake together with the group.

Day 8

Jerusalem

After breakfast, depart to BGN airport for your departure flight.
